In the heart of Vilamoura lies Dom Pedro Old Course Golf Club. As one of the first-established layouts in the region, the Frank Pennink-design is well regarded throughout the golfing world. The course finds itself situated amongst impressive pine trees and set out over gently undulating terrain. There can be no argument that, for all who are lucky enough to play there, this is a golf course that lives long in the memory. Among Algarve and Vilamoura golf courses, Dom Pedro Old Course Golf Club remains one of the biggest references, known internationally for its layout and exquisite clubhouse.

The championship Victoria Golf Course, designed by Arnold Palmer in 2004, is the longest course in Portugal. A series of beautiful lakes and waterfalls provides an attractive background to the European Tour’s Portugal Masters venue.

Set in 1,000 acres in the Eastern Algarve, between the Serra do Caldeirão mountains and the Atlantic Ocean lies a haven of peace and tranquility that is the jewel in the crown of Portugese Golf, rated almost universally as Portugal`s no. 1 golf course, designed by the great Jack Nicklaus. The first 18 hole course in Portugal`s Algarve designed by the great Sir Henry Cotton, Penina put the country on the map as a golfing destination. The Ocean Course, composed of the two original 9-hole golf courses designed by 3 times Open champion, Sir Henry Cotton, features gently undulating fairways which run alongside a nature reserve before leading gently down to the shores of the Atlantic and its emblematic holes are two challenging and spectacular Par 4s, the 11th and the 14th, and the Par 3 15th which runs alongside the beach.

Inaugurated in 1997, the Royal Golf Course was designed by top American golf architect Rocky Roquemore, based on the original drawings of Sir Henry Cotton who after winning his three Opens spent most of his time at Penina in the Algarve and so was very active in designing some of her great courses. Recognized as one of Portugal’s most prestigious golf courses, its features include the almost island green of the 9th and the famous 16th, with cliff-top carryover – one of the most photographed holes in Europe.
